Duh...der...what can I say?
Well, hello there. After ignoring this whole blogging thing for a couple weeks, I've decided to jump in and give it a try. So, I'll just start with a summary of me: I'm the Director of Development at allrecipes, so I do lots of the behind-the-scenes work on making our website do what it does. I have a vast array of interests and activities, which ebb and flow in receiving my attention. Currently I'm all over comfort cooking (Shepherd's Pie being the latest of my endeavors...my oh my...), movies -- or, shall we say "film", as I've just enrolled in a not-for-credit course on great film directors (Truffaut and Godard being the first batch on the lecture schedule). I'm also currently reading a biography of Brahms, which has triggered a renewed interest in playing the cello, which has been a part of my life off and on since I was 9 years old. The old junker (my cello, that is) is in the shop right now, but as soon as I get it back I'm going to be a diligent little player. I'm also really into gardening, although this time of year there's not much to get excited about, especially since Seattle has had a nasty cold snap. Let's see...what else? Well, reading, exercise (currently shaping up for a trip to Hawaii in a couple months), hiking, wine, dining out, seeing bands, bantering with friends, and chilling with my husband and cat are other favored activities.
So long for now...I'll try to think of something interesting later.
